Since 1940, the County Engineers Association of Ohio has worked to unify its members in providing the highest quality transportation, drainage, surveying and land record keeping services. From the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services to continuing land development needs, CEAO strives to construct solutions for many challenges to Ohio's local infrastructure. Ohio County Engineers are responsible for 26,081 bridges and 28,970 miles of urban and rural roadways that are vital to the combined growth of jobs and prosperity in the state of Ohio.

School Sidewalk, Paving Projects Top List
Two resurfacing projects, a bridge replacement and a school sidewalk in Carroll County are included in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) 2024 construction program.
The agency recently announced plans to invest $2.8 billion in 950 road and bridge improvement projects across the state.

Project Connecting Bikeway to State Route 682 Gets Funds
COLUMBUS — The Athens County Engineer’s Office will receive approximately $1.44 million to construct a multi-use path along Johnson Road in The Plains, the road to get to Eclipse Mining Town, to connect the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway to State Route 682.

Ashland Operated Midway Islands During WWII
The Reconstruction Finance Corporation was established in 1932 by the Hoover administration to help fight the Great Depression. At the outbreak of World War II, it became a part of the War Department. A subsidiary was the Defense Plant Corporation (DPC), which financed wartime factories and shipyards that were government-owned and leased to operators.

Logan County History - Plowing Contest
In April 1928, Logan County farmers were the first to participate in a state plowing contest in which excellence of work done, rather than speed, was the determining factor for winning. Sponsored by the Logan County Farm Bureau, they provided the competition medals, local farmers and businessmen donated the cash prizes, and the sweepstakes silver loving cup was given by the Agricultural Engineering Department at Ohio State University.
